Your Spring Footwear Edit

Today we dedicate an entire newsletter to my favorite fashion element: footwear. Shoes can not only make or break an outfit, but an entire day; that’s why I build pretty much every outfit starting from the ground. Here, the Coveteur staff shares their picks for spring, from the perfect going-out heel to our favorite Samba colorway. — Maraya

I am almost always in a sneaker, and adding a little bit of silver feels more elevated than a standard white pair. – Paige Kowal, Account Manager

I bought these shoes a few seasons ago and they have been a staple in my wardrobe ever since! The two-tone penny loafer takes any spring look from day to night. –Tom Lyon, Designer

These remind me of something Shalom Harlow might’ve worn to the office in 1998. There’s something very techno-Y2K about this shade of silver that makes me nostalgic for a time of pencil skirts and pagers (never mind that I was in grade school back then).
Hilary George-Parkin, Managing Editor

I can’t say this is a unique discovery but I’m itching to get my hands on a pair of the pierced Tory Burch flats—I particularly like the slingback version. —Camille Freestone, Senior Style Editor

I’ve worn these for two warm seasons now so I can attest—if you are looking for a cute going-out shoe that’s going to give you height, look no further. These are truly the most comfortable heels I’ve ever worn. I’ve done full DJ sets, run around Manhattan for hours, moshed at a Frost Children show, you name it. Like stepping on memory foam. –Maraya Fisher, Newsletter Editor

I have one too many black shoes, but I hate to stray too away from a tried and true path. This slingback adds just enough pattern so it’s not just another pair of black flats. –Katie Mok, Editorial Assistant

Everyone’s got Sambas, so I decided to make it a little different with the color variation. Honestly, I find them the perfect shoe for any outfit: a spring dress, jeans, yoga pants—the versatility is great. –Yasmin Coutinho, Senior Casting Director

I CAN’T get behind the mesh footwear trend, where you can see the toes through the fabric (obscene!). The girlies love it, but it’s one fad I thought I was definitely going to sit out on. These, however, are opaque so my toes can stay properly out of sight while still receiving a nice amount of air circulation. –Maraya Fisher, Newsletter Editor
