Mia Carucci’s Leather and Latex Go-To’s
If I were to trust anyone’s leather and latex recommendations, it would be LA producer, artist, and DJ, Mia Carucci. The dark seduction of her recent album Deities In Stone—which plays with elements of darkwave, trip-hop, R&B, industrial, the mythological, and the divine—is reflected in her style. Even her comfy clothes: the hoodies, sweats, and roomie shorts in her day-to-day wardrobe are cohesive with her distinct personal aesthetic. Here, Mia shares her go-to vintage shop, the album she wishes she made, and, of course, the leather and latex brands she trusts. — Maraya

5 X 5
5 Things Mia Carucci Is Currently Into Based on the 5 Senses
👁️ Sight 👀
Carnival of Souls (1962) directed by Herk Harvey and Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy amusement park in LA. The circus, twisted surrealism, fantasy, magic, and a touch of melancholy or horror are themes I find deeply comforting.
🎧 Sound 👂
Carnival of Souls by Miranda Sex Garden: I listen to MSG every day, once a day. The combination of ethereal madrigal harmonies, metal guitar, heavy noise, and whimsical percussion, I wish I made it!
👅 Taste 😋
Greek Avgolemono Soup: Greek avgolemono soups are all I eat right now. The lemony broth, the rice, the chicken! Aaagghhhwwkkfkd!
👃 Smell 😶🌫️
Coconut-Cinnamon Incense: Coconut-cinnamon incense is my signature home scent. Two ingredients of deep respect in my spiritual practice.
🤌 Feel 🤏
Fucking Awesome Reworked Zip Hoodie: I haven't taken this hoodie off in months, SEND HELP!
MIA’S WARDROBE ESSENTIALS
Mia Carucci 'Deities in Stone' Hoodie: The hoodie I designed for my album Deities In Stone with lyrics from the last track on the project printed on the back!
Zana Bayne Studded Butterfly Top: Everything by Zana Bayne is made with effortless perfection and is worth the price. I wear this leather butterfly top and other pieces every chance I get, she has the mind and hands of a Goddess, truly.
Mariano Cortez Real Tree Bondage Shorts: Same goes for Mariano Cortez of Busted Brand. Daddy of Latex, I'm into authenticity and intention. Both are inherent in his designs always, and these real tree denim shorts haven't left my body in weeks tbh.
Pro Club Men's Heavyweight Fleece Cargo Pants: If I'm not wearing those shorts or my vintage True Religion jeans, I'm home in my Pro Club black heavy fleece sweats. I don't like sweatpants generally, but these are the exception.
Everything From Singulier Vintage: Lastly anything and everything Singulier vintage in Frogtown stocks I want to own. Their curation is top tier in my very humble opinion.
VANITY
Mia Carucci’s Beauty Go-To’s
Luxury/Splurge: May Lindstrom Skin The Blue Cocoon Solid Oil Facial Concentrate: May Lindstrom's blue cocoon is my go-to healing product, it's not too thick, and it heals dark spots and dryness overnight. I covet her!
Drugstore Discovery: Revlon Illuminance™ Skin-Caring Foundation: My drugstore fave is probably Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring foundation in Ivory 105 for when I perform or go out and am going for a High Glam pale face look. Throw blush and translucent powder on and the fantasy is alive.
Cult Classic: Egyptian Magic: Egyptian Magic is a cult classic in the natural remedy world—hydrate, heal, and long-lasting glow!
Indie Option: NYX Slim Lip Pencil: Indie option go-to is NYX lip liner in espresso. She never disappoints.
All-Time Ole Reliable: Lucas Papaw Ointment: Lucas Papaw Ointment is something Jorja Smith put me onto while we were on tour in '18. I was like, "How are your lips always so shiny and hydrated without being glossy?" Papaw did the trick, and I keep one on me always.
HOT TAKE
“If what you're into today is scoffed at or ‘undesirable’ in the eyes of popular culture, please, enjoy that moment while it lasts! A couple months down the road everyone will become obsessed and you'll already be on to your next evolution.” – Mia Carucci
