Jazmine Rogers Will Cure Your Winter Style Slump

If you ever need a lesson in incorporating a bit of bold color and pattern in your wardrobe, look no further than Sustainable Baddie founder and CEO Jazmine Rogers. With a focus on sustainability, her profile is a masterclass in both responsible clothing consumption and dressing with joy and creativity. Her pairings are fabulous and unexpected: a green and pink floral knit with a maroon and blue tartan, a yellow boot with a green short and burgundy trench coat, a gauzy white ensemble with cherry red socks and blue metallic mary janes. I am certainly guilty of defaulting to a black and gray in the winter, and her feed is enough to shake me from a cold-weather styling slump. Here, she shares a few of her favorite sustainable fashion picks, the recipe she uses to impress her friends, and how she gets the perfect red lip. — Maraya

5 Things Jazmine Rogers Is Currently Into Based on the 5 Senses

👁️ Sight 👀

This Crafty Girl Inspo Account: Scrapbooking, crafting, and collecting as many little trinkets as I could to recreate I Spy pages was everything to me growing up, and I'm determined to bring that back. A huge inspo has been an Instagram account by @martinamartian where she shows how she slows down to be creative, reflective, and to connect with others through simple craft girls activities. But even if that's not what you're into, her page will bring you joy.

🎧 Sound 👂

Astrology of the Week Ahead with Chani Nicholas: The way life has been... how could I not commit myself to sitting down with a cup of tea, a journal, and pen to listen to Chani weekly? Chani's approach to providing astrological insight into what the world has in store for us feels as informative as it is hopeful. And whether the upcoming forecasts feel daunting or exciting, I feel more confident taking on whatever comes my way.

👅 Taste 😋

Charred Cabbage: I'm not exaggerating when I tell you I've made this 4 (maybe 5?) times for different friends because it's just so good. It's deceptively easy and cheap to make, and tastes just as amazing as it looks. So yeah, of course, this is my new I-want-to-impress-all-my-friends-and-hope-they-think-im-an-amazing-cook recipe.

👃 Smell 😶‍🌫️

Perfume De La Tierra from Ceremonia: I'm in the middle of discovering what my scent is, and currently, I keep gravitating towards this one by Ceremonia. It's vibrant and grounding with a perfect balance of woodsy and floral notes. I instantly feel more confident while wearing it.

🤌 Feel 🤏

The Fargo Hat by Tio Lee: As soon as winter hit, this hat was essentially glued to my head. It's so warm and this specific shade of blue is one of my favorites, and it makes the perfect accent touch to all of my outfits. Also as a curly girl, I appreciate how the inside is satin-lined and doesn't mess with my hair too much.

JAZMINE’S WARDROBE ESSENTIALS

Blue Metallic Flats from Nicole Saldaña: When these shoes first came across my IG feed I screamed! I instantly ordered them and haven't really took them off since. I adore Nicole Saldaña's unique take on the ballet flat with the double bow ties and metallic leather, and I know I'll wear them for as long as they let me.

Chunky Cardigan from Emma Mulholland on Holiday: I'm a fan of anything cozy. I'm also a fan of anything pink and green (Cosmo and Wanda, is that you?) So naturally, it makes sense that I find myself living in this insanely cozy wool-based cardi. Plus it has this really fun floral print on it that keeps me feeling really cute even when I feel like I'm bumming it.

Grocery Bags: Who needs a Birkin when you can get a recycled tote with a Birkin printed onto it? I got this one with this cobalt blue Birkin on it and I love dressing it up or taking it to the grocery store of course. It truly is THE sustainable, girl-boss bag.

Red Organic Cotton Socks from Colorful Standard: Socks are one of the most underrated accessories. It's the perfect opportunity to add a pop of color. Colorful Standard is one of my favorite sustainable brands to get my fun socks from, and these specific cherry red ones have been on repeat for me (especially with the Nicole Saldaña flats I mentioned earlier.)

Vintage Inspired Biker Boots from Alohas: I know biker boots have been trending a bit more lately, but I can't stop wearing them. They're incredibly comfortable and practical and deserve to be seen as a timeless design. One of my favorite style icons Orsola de Castro mentioned under one of my posts that she's had a pair of similar biker boots for ages, and I'm now super excited to wear them as long as she has!

VANITY

Jazmine Rogers’s Beauty Go-To’s

Luxury/Splurge: Stella McCartney Exclusive Travel Essentials Set: For some, diving into more expensive skincare can feel scary. I always recommend getting travel-size kits to sample some of them. I've been trying these from Stella McCartney, and I'm in love with their Alter-Care Serum.

Drugstore Discovery: Cocokind Postbiotic Acne Serum: Cocokind has been my day one affordable sustainable beauty brand. I always have their Probiotic Acne Serum stocked in my vanity.

Cult Classic: Ceremonia Guava Leave-In Conditioner: I feel like Ceremonia has grown quite a cult following and will continue to, for good reason. Their perfume that may be my new scent is just an offshoot of what they mainly do, which is natural haircare. I cannot stop using their leave-in-conditioner. It's super hydrating and smells amazing (and tbh, everything they have does).

Indie Option: Poundcake Cake Batter:Poundcake is a brand specifically made to have lipsticks that fit every skin tone out there. This Red Velvet lip of theirs is my go-to. I'll throw it on whenever I want to feel put together and it instantly does the trick.

All-Time Ole Reliable: Nu Eats Coconut Oil: Need a body oil? Coconut oil. Need some makeup remover? Coconut oil. Need a hair mask? Coconut oil. Natural mouthwash? Coconut oil. Honestly, the list goes on, but you get the point.
