Our Favorite Looks From London Fashion Week
There is a viral personality quiz that gives you a list of fictional characters you are most like (I am 92% like Alice Cullen, 86% Albus Dumbledore, etc.) The questions propose a series of dichotomies on a sliding scale like alpha versus beta or wild versus tame and you indicate where you are on that spectrum. One of the supposed dichotomies always puzzled me: haunted versus blissful. To me, these are not oppositional characteristics, but rather complementary—just look at Blithe Dolls or watch any Tim Burton movie. This season, between Burberry, Simone Rocha, Dilara Findikoglu, and Erdem, London Fashion Week had major haunted blissful energy. As we close out this fashion week, the Coveteur staff shares our favorite looks from London. — Maraya

His stylist Jason Bolden knows how to harness energy—it was a combination Matrix meets effortless tailoring.—Marc Duron, Chief Brand Officer
Emilia Wickstead, Look 20

Emilia Wickstead is another designer with a really nuanced take on femininity (and another whose collections I adore season after season). This look has all the things I need in an outfit: beautiful craftsmanship, ultra feminine and classic masculine (if you can even call the layered basics that), minimal accessories. Plus, the styling is excellent; I’ll be pairing sheer knee-highs with my black brogues for the foreseeable future. —Camille Freestone, Senior Style Editor
Dilara Findikoglu, Look 36

Now THIS is an effective historical allusion. It’s haunting, it’s striking, it’s challenging, beautiful, and otherworldly. Bravo! —Maraya Fisher, Newsletter Editor
Erdem, Look 15

London Fashion Week doesn’t always carry the cache its European counterparts boast, but I think the talent in the British city is quite superior. Erdem Moralıoğlu is always, always, always one of my favorites. I love the way he dilutes ultra feminine tropes with heavier fabrics and odd details. I paused for quite a while on the crushed silk look—I don’t think I need to explain myself. —Camille Freestone, Senior Style Editor
Peggy Gou at Burberry

I’m down bad for Peggy Gou, and when she posted her look next to Sonny, that made my morning commute into the office just a little bit better. I love the coat she’s wearing, but my focus was on her hair in perfect curls! —Katie Mok, Editorial Assistant
Richard Quinn, Look 2

With my current obsession with Truman Capote and his swans, I’m constantly looking for what I would’ve worn if I scored and invite to his black and white ball. Looks like the search is officially over and it’s time to find a new obsession.—Lauren Malanga, Campaign Manager
