A Case For Maximalist Jewelry

Brianna Jones is all about maximalist accessories, and we support it. Each outfit is perfectly enhanced by something unique and utterly fabulous, from amazing pieces of statement jewelry to funky hats and bags. Today, she shares her current obsessions, including the song she has on repeat, the novelty purse she can’t stop thinking about, and her go-to taco joint. — Maraya

SIGHT

Abbott Elementary: I’ve been loving Abbott Elementary! Not only is the writing good, but the plot is equally as good. I have not laughed out loud at a show in a long time. Every episode, I fall more in love with each character. Janelle James’ character, Ava, is always putting her two cents in with her witty humor. Another one of my favorite things to witness is Quinta Brunson’s character, Janine. It’s amazing to see her character development from the first season to season three. She seems sure of herself and the decisions that she makes now compared to how timid she was in the first season. I feel connected to her as a character because I’ve experienced the same amount of growth.

SOUND

Ravyn Lenae: One of my favorite artists right now is Ravyn Lenae. I was first introduced to her in high school by one of my friends and I’ve been hooked ever since. As someone who is not good with words, she is able to capture my many feelings of love and heartbreak. Her new single “Love is Blind” has been on repeat. She’s taking a great step into an electric sound. I love her evolution as an artist, and I can’t wait for her to get the recognition she deserves.

TASTE

Tacos: My favorite meal is tacos (al pastor tacos to be specific). Tacombi is my go-to restaurant for a long day! I actually went to Mexico last week for my birthday, and I made tacos from scratch. The best feeling. As a Taurus, being a foodie is my favorite. I love experiencing culture through food, which is why I always take a cooking class when traveling (croissants in Paris, pasta making in Italy). I just need to learn how to cook, but one step at a time.

SMELL

Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford": My favorite perfume right now is Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford. I first tried this scent when I was in Paris and I instantly fell in love. When it dried on my skin, it smelled like honey, which is my favorite scent besides patchouli. Of course, I had to think for a long time if I wanted to indulge. My best friend and I traveled around Europe for a whole month and every time we would go shopping, I would sample the fragrance, but I just couldn’t justify the purchase. I went back home to New York, and I stumbled upon the fragrance again, and I decided to splurge. Whenever I spray the fragrance, the tonka bean and vanilla just remind me of memories made on my first European tour with my best friend.

FEEL

Maximalist Jewelry: My favorite piece right now has to be this vintage necklace that I thrifted. It’s from the 1970’s and it has the coolest etched design. As a maximalist girl, a good statement necklace is my go-to to spruce up a simple look. All of my jewelry pieces represent a significant moment in my life. I bought that necklace on the first day of my fashion internship in college. Every time I wear that necklace it reminds me that I am a step closer to my dreams.

CURRENTLY COVETING

Maximalist accessories are my absolute favorite. Beaded bags have been my recent obsession because of all the intricate detailing. When I was younger, I was a Hannah Montana fan. I had a guitar bag that I would wear everywhere. Unfortunately, I left her on an airplane. I recently found this beaded novelty bag that keeps calling my name. My inner child would literally cry if I got this bag! The detailing and quirkiness of it all is so fun!!

Maximalist gold jewelry will elevate your outfit every time!
