‘80s Prep and Chainmail

The sakura petals are swirling in gutters and ice cubes in plastic coffee cups—spring has sprung in New York City! Today, we are doing a little temperature check on where the office is at in terms of everyday styling. What trends and outfit combinations are we trying out now that warmth isn’t the primary consideration? Here, we share our latest sartorial obsessions.  – Maraya

OUTFITS OF THE WEEK

The Coveteur Staff share the looks we’re still thinking about.

White on White

Spring weather finally arrived. The sun’s out, and you can actually feel the warmth, making a monochrome white outfit even more appealing. Am I afraid of coffee spills and a ketchup packet opening gone wrong? Deathly so. But ‘tis the season. —Katie Mok, Editorial Assistant

Super Long Dresses

I’ve been seeing dresses that go beyond floor-length everywhere, and Victoria Beckham’s birthday dress heard around the world has me feeling inspired to attempt to dress this trend down. VB’s own collection with Mango has several good options. —Caroline Good, Associate Director of Brand Partnerships

‘80s Prep

Been on a Whit Stillman kick lately, which I continued with a recent screening of The Last Days of Disco. The film is worth a watch for the ’80s-yuppie-prep ensembles alone (and there’s a throughline directly to what I’ve been wearing this past week, so be warned).—Camille Freestone, Senior Style Editor

Fur Jacket and Hotpants

Ok, so this isn’t necessarily something I’d wear to the office, but I moonlight as a DJ, so I’m always trying to find party outfits that aren’t just jeans and a going-out top. I’ve been obsessed with this combination since seeing this look on my feed, and now I’m on the hunt for the perfect faux or vintage fur jacket. There’s only a brief window where it’s warm enough to wear short (SHORT) shorts and cool enough for a fur, so I would love to take advantage ASAP. —Maraya Fisher, Newsletter Editor

Colorful Sports Shorts

The perfect WFH duo includes an oversized button-down and a pair of sports shorts. Comfortable, but still looks like I tried to put something together. Excuse me as I rummage through my closet to find my old soccer uniform. —Katie Mok, Editorial Assistant

Chain Mail

I’m a sucker for hardware in all its iterations—chains, padlocks, pins, buckles, clasps—and I keep coming back to my saved folder to admire this… vest? Top? Dress? Whatever it is, I love the simplicity of the styling here.—Hilary George-Parkin, Managing Editor

Matching Sets

They take the guesswork out of getting dressed—but they’re also more luxe than ever this season. I’ve noticed more embroidery, silk, and linen sets on my feed, so I have even more in my cart. —Leya Kaufman, Publisher & SVP of Sales
